The EFCC Era (2003β2007) In 2003, President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed Ribadu as the Chairman of the newly established Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) .
He served as the National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan from 2011 to 2012, where he advised on counter-terrorism and internal security during the height of the Boko Haram insurgency.
